This is for a snug in Notting Hill, a room the whole family uses. With children in the house, the fabrics had to be hard-wearing, so most of the scheme is woven stripes that can take everyday wear. The floral brings in the delicacy: pink peonies and blue flowers on a cream linen ground. It sets the colours for everything else.
The reds are a two-faced cushion, a deep red stripe on one side and a softer, faded one on the other, so it can be turned to suit the room. The ottoman is in a bold blue and white stripe. The pair of pouffes is in Penny Morrison’s blue ethnic stripe, a cream weave with a blue cross pattern. A cream tassel finishes the cushions.
