The Harlequin cushion, in a Robert Kime ikat of hand-dyed silk and cotton. Dyeing the threads before weaving gives the pattern its soft, feathered edges. We line it with linen to make it stronger and finish it with linen piping. Each cushion is cut from a different part of the cloth, so no two are quite the same.

Cushion pad size guide

A pad slightly bigger than its cover fills the corners and gives the cushion a full, plump shape.

For any cushion, go up 5cm on each measurement. A 50 × 50cm cover takes a 55 × 55cm pad; a 60 × 40cm cover takes a 65 × 45cm pad.

Good to know
Feather pads give the best result. They fill the corners and hold a chop better than fibre.
